Meet Alana…
Alana Edwards
- Integrated Health Practitioner.
I am on a mission to help people find joy, freedom, fulfilment and ease in their lives…
I believe that health is about helping all the systems of our bodies work together in harmony, and when we experience symptoms like pain and stress it’s a sign our body is out of balance.
My approach is to empower people to find the space, time and understanding to connect with their minds and bodies instead of fighting against them. I am passionate about exploring different possibilities for wellness outside conventional medicine, to help people find what truly works for them. By understanding ourselves better we can create more flow with all our emotions, feelings and circumstances as they arise.
Health and wellness has always been a significant part of my life.
My journey began in my teens when I competed nationally in ice skating competitions, ultimately leading me to pursue physiotherapy after an ankle injury.
However, my path changed, and I went on to study Chiropractic after working as a respiratory technician. In 2008, I completed my 5-year chiropractic degree from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic and worked as a Chiropractor until December 2021 when I took the decision to deregister.
Whilst I no longer legally call myself a ‘Chiropractor’, I use gentle adjustments of techniques such as McTimoney and Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) to help reduce stress and tension in the body. I also provide mentoring and guidance to support you more deeply through your healing process.
Along my own journey of self-discovery, I have studied various other techniques including various types of meditation, energy work, Ayurvedic medicine, shamanic work, and Human Design.
I draw from my professional background of over 20 years in the medical field to provide personalised guidance and tools for my clients.
I believe that health comes from the inside out, and factors such as what we eat, how well we sleep, our emotional and spiritual health, and the external circumstances surrounding us all play a crucial role in how our bodies function. Symptoms are signs from the body that something in our lives is not serving us, and through my work, I help clients gain insight and create change.
I'm also fascinated by methodologies that go beyond traditional medicine and outside the conventional box such as with Human Design. This provides insight into an individual's unique blueprint based on their date, time and place of birth. I have found this to be an enlightening tool for helping clients take a fresh look at their challenges, find clarity and new ways of moving forward.
